so that it is time to buy a new automobila.Clunker you are holding for the past fifteen years, has finally given up the ghost, so it's time to start looking high and low for a replacement. So where do we start?
One of the first decisions people make is whether they will buy a foreign car or a home, and many people have strong beliefs about the pitanju.Zajedničke wisdom is that imports, particularly Japanese cars are better, with higher gas mileage, and will last longer than their domestic counterparts for at least 100,000 miles (or more). Households have a reputation of poor quality, poor performance, but less impressive on the mileage ispred.Pitanje is whether these settings correct?
There is no doubt that this was the case in the 80s, when the Hondas and Toyotas trounced its domestic brethren on the sale floor, and American-made, especially with General Motors, left much to be desired. This author bought a brand new Chevrolet Camaro in 1985 which was squeaking, rattling, and generally behaves like a much older car 30,000 miles or so. Depressed.
So, who believe the myth? Which are based in fact? There are pluses for the purchase of both:
foreign cars tend to last longer than their American counterparts, the average lifespan of about 250,000 miles if properly maintained. In addition, Consumer Reports recently completed study, which determined that the vehicle manufacturer experience less problems than domestic ones.

......Of course the U.S. car market has come back in a big way in the last 20 years. Gone are the days of sloppy drafting that permeated the ranks of GM and Chrysler in the 80s. Many newer cars are competing very well with their foreign counterparts on the performance and reliability tests, most notably the Chevrolet Malibu. JD Power found that some Ford vehicles now rivals the best that Japan has to offer, and General Motors' Buick division tied with Jaguar for first place, beating out our Toyota and Lexus.
...Domestic manufacturers also offer a more diverse composition of cars, ranging from small economy cars, mid and full sized vehicles, not to mention specialty cars like the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette, the Dodge Challenger, for which no Japanese kolega.Izrazito American style of these vehicles is an element that has never been successfully copied by foreign carmakers.
...With all these considerations in mind, the question of imports relative to home can be a moot point with GM vehicles like the new Camaro is built on an Australian platform, Ford Fusion and Chevy HHR is assembled in Mexico. Also, the legendary Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Mazda 6 (among many others) are assembled right here in the United States.
This is the end of the day, the car you choose depends largely on your personal needs, budget, and to some extent, their dreams. Forget the myths of the car yesterday. Japan may still have the edge quality, but American cars should not be completely dismissed either.
